Abstract

This article intends to show in which sense Kant´s essay Toward perpetual peace: a Philosophical project (1795) serves as a foundational element for an international treaty and for a new world order with a moral basis. So the form of government he calls ‘republican’ will be, through a ‘republican constitution’, the best one (from the  the moral point of view). In this kind of government citizens and the ruler have, given the “agreement of politics with morals in accord with the transcendental concept of public right”, a voice, which turns out to be the ‘voice of reason’, now in the international – cosmopolitan – perspective.

Keywords: peace, republican constitution, international relations.
