Resumo: A partir de cinco cartazes da Festa de Carro de Bois pontuo a relaçãoda Festa do Carro de Bois (1990-2011) com a cidade de Tomar doGeru/SE. A festa foi inventada em virtude da significativa presença do carro debois na região e da eminência de seu desaparecimento no município. Destacareste meio de transporte como símbolo de uma cidade por meio de um ritualfestivo é transformá-lo em um valoroso veiculador de significados culturais.Assim, em todos os cartazes produzidos para divulgar a festa seu objetosímboloestá presente. Afinal, essas fontes iconográficas compõem as diversasvisualidades que presentificam o passado geruense e fornecem indícios de umarealidade, a qual se tornou tradição e patrimônio cultural imaterial local.Palavras-chave: Cidade, Festa do Carro de Bois, Tradição.

Abstract: Based on the five posters from the “Oxen Cart Festival” I havepointed to the relationship between this event (1990-2011) and its town TomarGeru/ SE. The Parade was invented due to the significant presence of the oxcartin the region and of the imminenceof its disappearance in the city.Highlight this ancient means of transportation as a symbol of a city through afestive ritual is to turn it into a valuable disseminator of cultural meanings.Thus, in all the posters produced to promote the party where its objectsymbolandelements are strongly present. After all, these various iconographicsources make up several views from the people there tomake present the pastand provide evidence of a reality which has become a tradition and intangiblecultural heritage site.Keywords: City, Oxen Cart Festival, Tradition.
